Inspired by costume, ritual and celebration across cultures, Animalesque explores the transformative power of dressing up. Each piece is designed to inspire imagination, transformation and play — to be worn, moved in, displayed, treasured and passed on.
These one-of-a-kind ruffle collars are made using vintage sari silks and organza in rich pinks, oranges, blues and turquoise, with hints of gold. The Pride collar is finished with gold tassels, and embroidered trim of pink and blue triangles, and hand-plaited silk braids.
They work beautifully on their own, or paired with a headdress — designed to lift any outfit and tempt you into a little shimmy.
Each costume piece is handmade using a rich combination of surplus theatre fabrics, vintage sari silks and trims, and Indian block-printed cottons and silks.
