Working with embroidery artisans in Kutch, off-cuts and scrap fabrics from our garment collections are transformed into hand-quilted patchwork throws. Each piece is collaboratively composed, inspired by the surrounding landscape, buildings, and local flora and fauna, then stitched using traditional hand embroidery techniques.
This one-off quilt combines patches of Achadiya cotton with naturally dyed Kala cotton in soft indigo and madder. Reversible, the quilt is backed with a length of indigo Achadiya cloth, offering another combination of colour and texture.
Hand-quilted with cream and pale peach running stitch, this unique textile piece is made slowly and collaboratively, giving new life to overlooked materials through skilled craft. Both functional and decorative, each quilt is a one-of-a-kind piece of textile art.
