Indigo Horizon Jacket
Description
Made from naturally dyed indigo Kala cotton, our popular Crop Jacket is reworked with traditional Suf embroidery in collaboration with women artisans at Kala Raksha.
Sara spends time learning about Kutch’s rich hand embroidery traditions at Kala Raksha, and has become particularly drawn to Suf — an intricate technique based on the triangle, or “suf”, counted across the warp and weft and worked in satin stitch.
The Indigo Horizon Jacket was created collaboratively by Nirmalaben, Kesharben and Sara, combining traditional Suf motifs of mountains, stars and peacocks with new colour combinations and compositions.
See the product shots for close-up details of the jacket and embroidery. The original Achadiya Crop Jacket is shown worn by model Merry to give an idea of the fit and shape.
Due to the nature of hand-dyed and repurposed fabrics, subtle variations in colour, tone and pattern are expected and celebrated. Each piece is thoughtfully constructed by a small team in Cornwall, embracing the beauty in imperfections and visible mending. Designed to be worn, lived in, and cherished over time.
